Cicada circle

This Cicada circle was done in colored pencil on mylar, a special type of polyester film that is rather transparent and very smooth to draw on andthat allows for placing another image underneath it to shine through. The outlines came from an old platter that I like. I used its contours to create the illusion of two old tree trunks.
